On October 15, 2017 the Gorchakov Fund started accepting grant applications from Russian and foreign NGOs for the projects to be implemented in the second half of 2018. The applications can be submitted until November 15, 2017.
International conference “The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations of Kuban in the Syrian Crisis Resolution” was held at Kuban State University with the media support of the Gorchakov Fund on October 6.
International Youth School “Belgorod-2017” will open in Belgorod on October 8. The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund has organized this academic workshop jointly with Belgorod State University and Institute of Cross-Border Cooperation and Integration.
The 15th Rhodes Forum “Dialogue of Civilizations” has opened in Greece on October 6. During two days scientists, social activists, religious figures from Russia, Greece, Iran, China, France, Switzerland and several other countries will be discussing scenarios of future development of the planet under conditions of continuing local wars and the migration crisis, echo of the cold war and the threat of international terrorism.
On October 6, international public conference “The Role of Non-Governmental Organizations of Kuban in the Syrian Crisis Resolution” will be held at Kuban State University. The XI Convention of Russian International Studies Association (RISA), an international association focusing on studies of international relations and a member of International Studies Association (ISA), which aims at preservation and development of the best practices in interdisciplinary studies of international relations and teaching related academic disciplines, ended at MGUMO (U) under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Russia.
On September 26, the Russian-Slovak Discussion Forum took place in Moscow. Diplomats, public figures and top experts gathered together on the expert platform to discuss major issues of bilateral cooperation. Honorary guests of the forum included Ambassador of Slovakia in Moscow Peter Priputen and Ambassador of Russia in Bratislava Alexey Fedotov.
On November 13-16, International Forum “Caucasus in the Beginning of the 21st Century: the Role of Public Diplomacy in Countering International Terrorism” will be held in Pyatigorsk. Sessions of the academic school “Russia and Belarus: History and Culture in the Past and in the Present” are taking place in Smolensk. Young researchers from Russia and Belarus got together here to discuss current political, historical, economic and social issues of bilateral relations. The event was organized by Autonomous Non-Profit Organization Academic Center “Porubezhye” and Smolensk State University with the support of the Gorchakov Fund.
A press tour of Polish journalists in the North Caucasus ended on September 17. This trip had been organized by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund with the support of the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Chechen Republic.
The 5th annual meeting of the International Expert Council on Cooperation in the Arctic will take place at the premises of EXPOFORUM within the framework of the international exhibition-conference NEVA-2017 in St. Petersburg. Activities of the expert council are supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and sponsored by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.
