Diplomatic Seminar of Young Experts

The Diplomatic Seminar of Young Experts is an annual research and educational program and a youth platform for an open dialogue on the issues of cooperation in the areas of international relations, economics, law, public diplomacy, and history.

Since its implementation in 2012, the project has brought together over 400 experts from 30 neighbouring countries and beyond. Participation in the project served as a good professional incentive for further research and public activities for many young experts.

Meetings with top Russian scholars in the field of international relations, prominent political scientists, historians, representatives of NGOs and governmental officials are organized for the participants of the project.

The Diplomatic Seminar is an opportunity to make a personal statement on the international platform, broaden horizons, meet well-known politicians and experts, improve professional skills and make useful connections with colleagues from other countries.

Who can become a participant?

  • students and postgraduates specializing in international relations, journalism, economics, political science, and law;

  • representatives of NGOs, student unions and youth movements;

  • young scientists and historians from different regions of Russia, the CIS countries, Europe and Asia (young experts from other continents may also apply). 

Requirements to the participants:

  • knowledge of Russian;

  • age 18-30;

  • a proactive approach to life and a desire to develop professionally.

Terms of participation:

The Gorchakov Fund will cover accommodation costs, meals, cultural program and transfers included in the program. The Fund will provide visa support. In addition to that, the organizers will hold a raffle based on results of the essay contest, which will provide the winner with coverage of travel expenses to the event.

How to apply?

Once the call for applications for participation in the new project is published, the applicants should complete an application form of the Gorchakov Fund and attach an essay (if required), a short bio, links to several publications/videos/podcasts in the media, a photo (face photo, light solid background, vertical position), and a copy of the passport.
