Call for applications to attend the VIII Youth Forum of the Potsdam Meetings
The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and the Russian-German Forum begin accepting applications for participation in the VIII Youth Forum of the Potsdam Meetings, which for the first time will take place in a hybrid format. Some attendees and experts will be able to attend the events in Moscow in person while foreign and out-of-town colleagues will participate in the forum online on Zoom.

The topic of the coming event is “Partners in Difficult Times? Russia and Germany in the Post-Coronavirus Era”.

Participants of the VII Youth Forum of the Potsdam Meetings, which took place on March 24, 2021, discussed ways of cooperation between the countries after the pandemic, including in politics, security and economy. According to Russian Ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechayev, the economic component is a core of the Russian-German dialogue. Following discussions with experts and governmental officials, the attendees of the youth forum talked about ways to implement cooperation in healthcare, environmental protection and artificial intelligence. As a result of the forum, the attendees will together develop a summary document, which will be forwarded to field-specific governmental agencies in Russia and Germany,

The discussion will cover the most important issues of cooperation between the countries during the pandemic, including cooperation in the areas of politics, security and economy. 

The format of the event includes short presentations followed by an open exchange of opinions on the topics of the agenda. Participation of governmental officials and representatives of the expert community of both countries is expected.

Dates of the event: November 8-10, 2021 (November 8 – arrival of the participants; November 9 – the day of the forum; November 10 – departure of foreign and out-of-town participants).

Place of the event: Moscow/online on Zoom.

Who can become a participant?

Russian citizens: Bachelor’s and Master’s students, post-graduates, scholars, representatives of the government and NGOs, and other international relations experts (political scientists, regional experts, teachers, researchers, lawyers, economists, businessmen, journalists and others).

Age of participants: 20-35.

The group of participants will be formed based on results of the competition.

How to participate:

Complete an application form of the Gorchakov Fund.

Terms of in-person participation:

– the organizers will cover travel, accommodation costs, meals and transfers in Moscow;

– the attendees will pay for the transfer "airport/train station - hotel - airport/train station". 

Application deadline: September 10, 2021 at 11:59 pm.

Languages of the event: Russian and German with synchronous interpretation.
