EAEU experts performed a SWOT analysis of integration prospects with the support of the Gorchakov Fund

On August 16-19, special international expert session "Growth Points - Kolomna" was held in Kolomna with the grant support of the Gorchakov Fund. Experts of the project "Growth Points" – political scientists, professors, politicians from Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan – performed a SWOT analysis of the current stage of Eurasian integration taking into consideration a youth factor.  During the expert session, the attendees developed specific proposals on improvement of integration mechanisms, activities with the youth of the EAEU member states and neighbouring countires. Those proposals will provide foundation for an expert report with best practices related to solution of the identified problems.

A press conference for journalists and a meeting of the experts with students, governmental officials and general public of Kolomna and Zaraysk were also organized as part of the project.

In 2020, the idea of using an image of Fyodor Dostoevsky as one of the symbols of the common Eurasian set of values was proposed. In November of 2021, the world will celebrate the 200th birthday anniversary of the great Russian writer. A field event was organized as part of the project at the Dostoevsky estate in Darovoe located not far from Kolomna, where the writer had spent his childhood and which in 2021 will become one of the centers of the anniversary celebrations.

International public diplomacy project "Growth Points" has been implemented by ANO "Institute of the Russian Expatriate Community" in partnership with the City Council of Kolomna and OOO Rodina (Kolomna) since March 2020. The project represents a complex of educational events and targets the youth of Eurasia. The project is aimed at demonstrating advantages of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Union State of Russia and Belarus. It was made possible thanks to grants of the President of Russia and the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.
