"Expert's Opinion": Alexander Pivovarenko about the Balkan "Mini-Schengen"
In 2019, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic suggested creating a "Mini-Schengen" economic zone in the Balkan region. The initiative was followed by a new round of discussions under the new name of the "Open Balkan". On July 29, governments of Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia agreed to waive mutual border control starting from January 1, 2023. Other proposals include simplification of the trilateral trade and opening of labour markets of the three countires for each other.

Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Slavic Studies RAS Alexander Pivovarenko will become a guest of the "Expert's Opinion" show this week.
