Irek Zinnurov about Russian-Azerbaijani youth cooperation

On July 8, Irek Zinnurov, Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Azerbaijan – Russian Information and Cultural Center in Baku (RICC) was a guest of the "Expert's Opinion" show. The speaker told the audience about areas of cooperation of Russian-Azerbaijani youth and joint projects implemented by the two countries.

Even during the pandemic Rossotrudnichestvo has been implementing "Missions of Good"  – a new project, which includes an exсhange of volunteers from both countries. Also, program "New Generation" continues: it hosts forums attended by active young representatives of non-governmental organizations from Azerbaijan, who have certain project ideas and implement them together with their colleagues.

Rossotrudhnichstvo also actively works with local youth organizations. Such extensive work is beneficial for both, Russian and Azerbaijani youth.

"The role of Rossotrudnichestvo in cultural relations is significant, and Azerbaijan understands that, too.  Ideas of multiculturalism are close to both countires. We can mutually enrich each other in that area of cooperation", added Irek Zinnurov.

The federal agency also  provides quotas for the Azerbaijani youth to receive education in Russia. According to Irek Zinnurov, today we can observe strong integration between Russia and Azerbaijan. As a result of that the Russian language is more and more in demand. However, it should be mentioned that a reverse process is also taking place: over the past two years, as per Profile magazine, a desire to learn the Azerbaijani language by the Russians has also increased.

"During the pandemic year of 2021, Rossotrudnichestvo has begun developing additional educational courses: public speaking, rhetoric, financial literacy. Our plans also include launching intellectual games with the support of the Ministry of Education. There are many projects and we will try to implement them together with NGOs of Azerbaijan", summarized Zinnurov.

A recording of the show is available on the YouTube channel of the Gorchakov Fund.
