On April 12-19, 2021 "Clean Games" NGO will host a free online workshop on organizing environmental competitions. Activists and NGOs from Belarus, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Sweden, and Ukraine are invited to attend.
Clean Games are team-based competitions in cleaning green and coastal territories from garbage and waste sorting. Participants use mobile app "Pokemon Go" when picking up the litter. Since 2014, more than 1000 events have been held in 20 countries across the globe. Up to 1500 participants can participate in the event and collect up to 20 tons of garbage in one hour. On average, each participant collects 10 times more than during an ordinary cleanup.
The participants of the online workshop will learn how to organize the Clean Games events, how to work with the Clean Games mobile app and the website, how to negotiate and attract more participants, media, businesses, and local administration.
At the end of the workshop, every attendee will host a test game event for friends and family, get access to the Clean Games knowledge base, will be invited to become one of the organizers during the annual Clean Games Baltic Cup and receive reimbursement for the expenses associated with the event. The tournament will be held for the third time on World Cleanup Day - September 18, 2021.
