Sergey Panteleyev: "Ukraine ended the Soviet period of history only in 2014"

"Ukraine has not achieved independence without a bloodshed. Unlike Russia, which quickly entered a period of post-Soviet history, Ukraine was living in the paradigm of Sovietness for a long time. A full exit of Ukraine from the Soviet period of history took place in 2014, and the process of becoming independent from the Soviet past, which began at that time, has turned out to be extremely bloody", believes Sergey Panteleyev, political  scientist, Director of the Institute of Russian Expatriate Community and Head of Eurasian Youth Project "Growth Points". Today, on August 26, a conversation during the "Expert's Opinion" show focused on characteristics of the 30-year period of existence of Ukraine as an independent country.
