On July 7, the Gorchakov Fund hosted conference "Building Powerful Youth", during which international students were able to learn more about applying to Russian educational institutions and opportunities for further development in their fields of study in Russia.
The idea of the project belongs to Mouna Azaroul, a student of Tambov University and a winner of the grant contest for foreign individuals organized by the Gorchakov Fund on the sidelines of the "Eurasia Global" Forum in 2020.
The conference was opened by a welcome address of the Gorchakov Fund and continued by presentations of Russian educational institutions. The following speakers presented at the event:
Dmitry Gritskov, Deputy Director for International Student Affairs, Tambov State University;
Daria Chentsova, Senior Expert for Public Relations, International Student Affairs Unit, International Administration of MGIMO University;
Alexander Khurshudyan, Head of Admissions, St. Petersburg State University;
Daria Melenchuk, Head of Academic Services Unit, Institute for Social Sciences, RANEPA;
Alina Anisimova, Head of Higher Education Unit, Rosomolodezh;
Sergey Orlov, Chief Specialist-Expert, International Relations Unit, Rosmolodezh;
Alexander Yegorychev, Chief Specialist-Expert, International Relations Unit, Rosmolodezh.
The attendees have showed interest in the presentations made by the universities. The most common questions asked by the foreign students were terms of receiving a scholarship, consecutive education on all stages (Bachelor's, Master's and PhD studies), participation in international educational programs, such as Eurasia Global and programs of the Gorchakov Fund. A presentation made by expert of PSP-Foundation Andrey Yakimov was of special interest to the participants: he told about the process of completing the paperwork, apartment rentals, migration cards and many other issues.
Also, during the conference, the international students spoke about their impressions of studying and living in Russia. Organizer of the conference, grant recipient and citizen of Morocco Mouna Azaroul shared her experience with the attendees.
A recording of the event in English and Russian will be available soon in English and Russian on the YouTube channel of the Gorchakov Fund.
