The Gorchakov Fund took part in the Forum of Russian Compatriots

On July 29-August 6, the International Youth Forum of Russian Compatriots Living Abroad took place in Moscow, Samara and Volgograd.

"This year, 350 people are attending the forum online and 100 people - offline. The participants are representatives of 74 countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Austria, USA, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Spain, India, Turkey, Armenia, Ukraine, Bulgaria and others. These young Russian compatriots, ages 18-40, live abroad and represent Russian communities and youth NGOs", informed organizer of the event - the Federal Youth Agency of Russia.  

The Gorchakov Fund took part in the forum as a partner of the event. Deputy Executive Director Victoria Karsliyeva introduced the attendees of the forum to activities of the Fund and told them about support provided by the Fund to young compatriots. Special attention during the Moscow stage of the forum was paid to the Eurasia Global Forum and a presentation of the projects-winners of the grant contest. During the Samara stage of the forum, the Fund hosted master classes on preparation of projects, which the participants will be able to present in order to compete for financing. 

The initiative to organize the forum belongs to the Community of Young Compatriots, which brings together over 15 000 young people from 70 countries. It also received support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and the Federal Youth Agency of Russia.

The goal of the forum is to summarize results of activities of the Community of Young Compatriots Living Abroad during 2017-2020 and give new momentum to development of the community taking into account a federal and regional youth agenda of Russia. The program of the forum includes business, cultural and leisure components.
