140 years of diplomatic relations: A joint conference of Russia and Romania will take place in Bucharest
On October 23, conference “Russia and Romania: Major Events During 140 Years Since Establishing Diplomatic Relations”, organized by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and Titulescu European Foundation, will take place in Bucharest.
President of Titulescu European Foundation Adrian Nastase, Ambassador of Russia to Romania Valery Kuzmin and Executive Director of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund Leonid Drachevsky will address the participants during the opening ceremony.
Russian and Romanian experts, political scientists and historians will attend the event. Senior researcher of the Mediterranean and Black Sea Region Unit of the Institute of Europe RAS Sergey Zabelin will make a report on “Priorities of Cooperation in the Black Sea Region”. Head of the Center of Political Integration, senior researcher of the Institute of Europe RAS Dr. Lyudmila Babina will analyze Russian-Romanian relations from the perspective of Romanian membership in the EU. Professor of the Department of Global Studies at Lomonosov Moscow State University Alexander Sagomonyan will present a report on “S. Sazonov, A. Brusilov and the Decision of Romanian to enter World War I”.
The conference will alight with events dedicated to the anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Russia and Romania and will emphasize importance of cooperation between civils societies of both countries.
