A commemoration evening dedicated to Yevgeny Primakov took place at the Georgian-Russian Public Center
A meeting dedicated to the 88th
anniversary of outstanding scientist and politician Yevgeny Primakov was organized
on October 29 at the Georgian-Russian Public Center.
Experts, journalists and students in
the field of international relations attended the event.
The evening was opened by Director of the Center Uruzmag Karkusov.
Georgian professor, political scientist and member of the Board of the Public Center Tamara Kiknadze told about political work of Yevgeny Primakov. She focused her speech on special attitude of Mr. Primakov to Georgia.
Head of the Congress of Slavic Nations, member of the Board of the Public Center, former head of the Administration of Georgia and member of the Board of the Pyotr Mamradze Public Center Lika Zakharova also spoke about the personality of Mr. Primakov.
The participants of the meeting mentioned the special role of Yevgeny Primakov in the events, which took place in the 1990s in Abkhazia.
The experts suggested translating several books by the outstanding scientist and politician from Russian into Georgian. They will become a permanent guide to experts in foreign affairs.
In the end of the meeting the students of the Russian language courses at the Public Center cited poems by Yevgeny Primakov: “I am set in my heart”, “I suppress a slave in me”, To Friend A.S.D.” and others.
Director of the Public Center Uruzmag Karkusov thanked the guests for participating in the meeting and stated that the Georgian-Russian Public Center would soon launch it own website.
