A contest for young scientists to participate in international forum “The Primakov Readings” in 2019
Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAS) and the Primakov Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation, under the auspices of international forum “The Primakov Readings”, will organize the third youth session in the form of a roundtable “Crises and Conflicts of the Future”. During the roundtable, the participants from different regions of Russia, neigbouring countries and beyond will be able to present their own vision on prospects of development of international relations. The roundtable will take place on June 8, 2019 at IMEMO RAS. Post-graduate students and employees of higher educational institutions and think tanks, non-governmental and non-profit organizations, and independent experts (35 years old and younger) specializing in world economy, political science, international relations, international law, global security, sociology and demographics as well as modern and contemporary history are invited to apply.
Based on results of the contest, 15 young scientists will be selected, who will be able to attend the Primakov Readings on June 10-11, 2019 in Moscow at International Trade Center and will receive an opportunity to meet top experts, former and current politicians and businessmen. Forum “The Primakov Readings” provides a platform for a discussion of problems of world economy, politics and security with the participation of representatives from Russian and foreign think tanks. The topic of the Primakov Readings in 2019 is “Returning to Confrontation: Are There Any Other Alternatives?”
The list of required documents:
application form (download);
essay (12 000-15 000 characters) on the topic of “Crises and Conflicts of the Future”;
recommendation letter from the head of a university/institution/organization;
additional documents characterizing you as a professional, who fits the criteria of the project (scientific articles, CV , etc.)
Topics of the essay may include a variety of issues associated with relations between superpowers, new forms of conflicts and competition in the modern world, the role of military power and problems of peacekeeping, problems and opportunities of social-humanitarian and cultural-humanitarian cooperation.

The organizers will cover expenses associated with travel, accommodation and meals for the winners of the contest.
