A contest of future diplomats has started in Yakutia. The Gorchakov Fund is a partner of the event

A regional stage of the XII Republican Contest among high school students “Future Diplomat – 2018” took place in Yakutsk. Official Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Yakutsk Nikolay Dyakov addressed the participants.

Information about the event was provided by media agency Yasia.

The contest has been held since 2006 at the initiative of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in Yakutsk and with administrative support of the Ministry of Education and Science, Department of External Affairs, Republican Resource Center “Young Natives of Yakutsk” and the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, reminds the source.

72 high school students from 15 schools of the regional center and 11 schools of Khangalassky, Gorny and Namsky Districts competed against each other during the first stage of the competition. 12 participants were selected based on results of the contest (essay defense, interview, knowledge of a foreign language and debates) and received an invitation to participated in the republican stage.

The contestants demonstrated their knowledge in the field of national foreign policies, world events and foreign affairs as well as their knowledge of foreign languages and discussion skills.

The winners of the regional stages, which will be held in the nearest future in Nyurba and Tatta, will compete for the first place during the republican stage in Yakutsk, writes Yasia.
