An international roundtable dedicated to the EAEU’s fifth anniversary will take pace in Moscow
On January 28, International Roundtable “The EAEU: Five-Year Results and New Horizons of Integration” will be organized at Moscow Region State University.
Organizers of the events are Center for Geopolitical Studies “Berlek-Yedinstvo”, the Department of Political Science and Law of the Faculty of History, Political Science and Law at Moscow Region State University, Information and Analytics Center of Moscow State University and the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.
Top experts in political science, economics and international relations from Russia and other EAEU member countries will participate in the roundtable.
The discussion topics will include:
The EAEU and the concepts of Greater Eurasia: comparing practice with theory;
Geopolitical risks and potentials of the EAEU;
Civilizational and axiological problems of the EAEU’s development and others.
January 1, 2020 has marked the 5th anniversary of the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union. The international agreement was signed by the leaders of Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus; however, already on January 2, 2015 the EAEU was joined by Armenia and in August of the same year by Kyrgyzstan.
The treaty defined a transfer of the Eurasian project onto a new, deeper level of integration for the purposes of comprehensive modernization, cooperation and increased competitiveness of national economies and providing conditions for their stable development in the interests of increasing the level of life of population in the member countries.
