Dialogue in the Name of the Future – 2017 has ended in Moscow

Research and educational program “Dialogue in the Name of the Future – 2017: Russia and the World Around a Century Later” has ended in Moscow on November 20.

The final day was opened by the discussion “Relations between Russia and the West: Searching for Balance”. Expert of the Gorchakov Fund, post-graduate student at MGIMO Lyana Dymova, Vice Rector of the Diplomatic Academy Oleg Ivanov and Director of Center for Comprehensive International and European Studies at the Higher School of Economics Timofey Borodachev discussed the status of Russian-US relations, their problems and controversies with the audience. The discussion included different concepts of development of international relations and a possible strategy of Russia towards Europe.

After that, Director of Russia and Central Asia Center at the Shanghai Association of International Studies Li Sin and Deputy Director of the Institute of Far Eastern Studies RAS Vladimir Portyakov spoke about the role of communist and capitalist factors in the modern development of the APR countries and presented a detailed historical analysis of cooperation.

Director of IMEMO RAS, member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dr. Feodor Voytolovsky once again took part in the Dialogue. He discussed relations in the triangle Washington – Beijing – Moscow with the attendees of the workshop.

The Dialogue in the Name of the Future – 2017 ended with an official ceremony of awarding diplomas to the participants.

The event was organized with the support of the grant of the President of the Russian Federation for development of the civil society provided by the Foundation of Presidential Grants.
