IASK in collaboration with the Gorchakov Fund announced a contest for the best knowledge of Central Europe

IASK, the Institute of Advanced Studies, Kőszeg (Hungary), the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences have announced a contest for the best knowledge of modern Central Europe among post-graduate and Master’s students of Russian universities specializing in studies of that region.

Terms of participation: short essays (10 000 – 15 000 characters with an annotation) on different aspects of political, economic, cultural and international life of the countries of Central Europe or its regions will be accepted for participation in the contest. The text should be accompanied by a CV and, preferably, a recommendation letter from an instructor/academic advisor. Knowledge of English is required.

Results of the contest will be announced on June 12, 2019. Winners of the contest (3 students) will receive an opportunity to participate in the International Summer University at the premises of the Institute of Advanced Studies in Kőszeg, western Hungary on June 28-July 6, 2019. Transfer and accommodation will be paid by the organizers of the contest.

The winners will be able to attend a course of lectures by well-known European scientists, politicians and experts “1989-2019: 30 Years After. Central Europe in a Global Context” and participate in cultural programs.
