23 May 2019

International conference “Influence of External Factors on Internal Processes of the Balkan Region at the End of the 20th – Beginning of the 21st Centuries” took place at the Gorchakov Fund. The participants of the event included the best authors, selected based on results of the International Contest of Student Scientific and Analytical Paper on the Topics of the Balkans dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the NATO’s aggression against Yugoslavia and the analysis of events of those years.

That contest for Bachelor’s and Master’s students, postgraduates and young experts in Balkan studies from different countries had been organized by the Primakov Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation in collaboration with the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.

The attendees were welcomed by Programs Director of the Gorchakov Fund Daria Lobanova. She mentioned that the contest had been organized during the year of the 90th birthday anniversary of outstanding Russian diplomat and politician Yevgeny Primakov. That is why, the review of scientific papers written by young exerts in Balkan studies had been included into an official list of anniversary events developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia.

The participants of the conference presented their studies during the event. We would like to remind that two winners, which will be selected based on results of the conference, will be awarded with memorable gifts and an opportunity to attend several events in Belgrade (Serbia) dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the NATO's bombing of Yugoslavia.
