International conference “Russia – Turkey – Greece: Dialogue Opportunities in the Balkans” will take place with the media support of the Gorchakov Fund
On May 12 the Institute for Slavic Studies RAS will hold International Scientific Conference “Russia – Turkey – Greece: Dialogue Opportunities in the Balkans”.
The event, which will take place with the media support of the Gorchakov Fund, will include discussions of a wide spectrum of issues:
political relations between Russia, Turkey and Greece: the past, the present and the future;
cultural and historical ties between Russia, Turkey and Greece and their influence on the Balkan region;
geopolitical positions of Russia, Turkey and Greece in the multipolar world between the East and the West;
economic and energy cooperation of Russia, Turkey and Greece in the Balkans;
humanitarian cooperation between Russia, Turkey and Greece in the Balkans.
In order to participate in the conference, the applicants should send an application, including short information about the speaker (first and last name, academic credentials, position and place of work, email, contact phone number), title and short (200-300 words) abstract of the presentation at the email address of the Organizing Committee firstname.lastname@example.org by March 15. A decision about inclusion of the presentation into the agenda of the conference will be announced not later than April 15. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to select the applications.
Due to the academic nature of the event, post-graduate students and experts in that area are invited to apply.
Working languages of the conference are Russian and English. Travel and accommodation costs are at the expense of the participants of the conference. There is no registration fee.
The conference will take place at the following address: 32a Leninsky prospect, Moscow. Online participation via Skype is allowed. Requirements to the participation: presentation – 15 minutes; speech during discussions – 5 minutes.
A collection of materials will be published based on results of the conference.
