Issues of international counterterrorism have been discussed at the Primakov Center

On October 17, discussion meeting “International Terrorism: Common Approaches” was held at the Primakov Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation.


Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Executive Director of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund Leonid Drachevsky, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Oleg Syromolotov, Army General Professor Valtentin Korabelnikov, President of the Club of Military Leaders Anatoly Kulikov, Head of the Federal Plenipotentiary Service Gennady Kornienko and representatives of the Primakov Center took part in the meeting from the host side.


Guests of the meeting also included Deputy Minister of Justice of Italy Cosimo Ferri, President of the Institute of Eurasian Studies and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy in 2002-2004 and 2008-2011 Franco Frattini, Executive Director of the Institute of Eurasian Studies (Italy) Andrea Gianotti, Head of the Department for Foreign Affairs of the European People’s Party (France) Nicolas Briec and employees of the Embassy of Italy in the Russian Federation.


In their speeches, the participants discussed different aspects and methods of counterterrorism in Russia and Europe, Russia-European relations, shared their vision of intergovernmental cooperation in the field of security and also mentioned issues of developing specific projects dealing with confrontation of international terrorism threats.


The Primakov Center for Foreign Policy Cooperation was founded in 2015. The mission of the Center is to accumulate and develop intellectual heritage of Yevgeny Pirmakov, strengthen international cooperation on expert and scientific levels, and to involve civil society institutions into a foreign policy process.

Plans of the Primakov Center include new meetings with outstanding representatives of world politics, science, well-known Russian and foreign public figures.
