New ways of cooperation between the EU and the EEU are being discussed during the summer school sponsored by the Gorchakov Fund

The Summer School of the Center of International and Regional Policy (CIRP) is taking place at Study Center Academy in the Leningrad region. Partners of the conference are the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, Russian-Polish Center for Dialogue and Understanding, the NATO Information Office in Russia, program “Public Diplomacy of the EU and Russia”, General Consulate of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Russian-Baltic Media Center.


The topic of the sessions, attended by senior students and speakers from different cities and towns of Russia as well as from Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Germany, Kazakhstan, Italy, Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, and the Baltic States, was cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Union and the European Union in the field of politics, economy, and security. Issues of political and economic cooperation between the EEU and the EU, Russian-European regional cooperation and problems of international political tension were also included into the discussion.


The participants and the experts of the forum were welcomed by Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund Roman Grishenin.


The speakers of the summer school are: Editor-in-Chief of REGNUM News Agency IA Modest Kolerov; Director of the Slovak Foreign Policy Association Alexander Duleba; Executive Director of the Institute of Eurasian Studies, member of the Gorchakov Club Andrea Gianotti; Vice-Rector for Research of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Oleg Ivanov; Co-chair of the Regional Studies in the South Caucasus Group at the Partnership for Peace Consortium Frederic Labarre; Senior Research Fellow of the Center of Oriental Studies (Warsaw) Shimon Kardash, Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia Andris Vilcans and others.

The CIRP Summer School will end on July 14.
