Professor Pilotto: Breaking the deadlock is possible after rethinking all the system of international relations

10 May 2016

A meeting with Head of International Programs at the School of Management MIB of the University of Trieste Professor Stefano Pilotto was held at the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.

Mr. Pilotto kindly agreed to share his opinion regarding current international events and status of Russian-Italian relations of today:

“I believe that the current crisis of trust between Europe and Russia is mostly a result of a series of local crises, which have evolved over the past 4-5 years.

Besides, a global economic crisis escalated, which complicated the relations, but also indicated a need for improvement of quality of trade and economic relations with Russia in order to find ways to overcome the crisis.

Events of the “Arab spring” added to that, which to a certain extent changed an exclusively European scenario of the crisis.

I think that the attitude to those events was complex and in that sense an issue of effectiveness of the “global government” has evolved”.
