RNC BRICS and the Gorchakov Fund will host BRICS International School. Call for applications

On August 27-31, 2018 Moscow will host BRICS International School, organized by the Russian National Committee on BRICS Research together with the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.

BRICS International School is a unique scientific and educational program for training young specialists in the field of studying BRICS political, economic and humanitarian issues and specific areas of the five countries interaction.

Participants of BRICS International School will be offered a specially developed comprehensive course of lectures from top Russian and international experts on the issues related to BRICS countries cooperation to broaden professional horizons, develop communication skills, study specifics of BRICS countries cooperation, their position on the global arena, prospects of institutionalization, and future of the BRICS cooperation.

  • BRICS and SCO interlinkage in Eurasia

Goal of the program: to expand a pool of young experts-BRICSologists in order to build a HR reserve for further development of the youth track of cooperation within BRICS.

BRICS International School program includes: lectures, master classes, presentations, etc.

BRICS International School is aimed at:

  • Offering a course of lectures by top Russian and international experts for professional growth of the young participants.

  • Organizing discussions and analytical “brain storms” on BRICS issues.

  • Accumulating intellectual potential of the young experts and introducing new expertise.

  • Developing professional community of the young experts-BRICSologists.

  • Publishing comprehensive study guides for universities and professional training courses.

Working languages of BRICS International School: Russian, English (certain lectures might be offered only in English).

Speakers of BRICS International School: top Russian and international experts, representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, ministries and agencies, think tanks with considerable experience in studying BRICS issues.

Upon completion of the BRICS International School program, participants will receive certificates of attendance. A comprehensive study guide for young experts-BRICSologists will be published based on materials of the lectures and will be subsequently distribution among top Russian universities and other interested organizations.

BRICS International School invites up to 35 diplomats, practitioners, young scientists, journalists, students and graduate students from Russia, Brazil, India, China, South Africa, the CIS countries, Europe and Asia, ages 18- 35, to attend the program.

Terms of participation

Participation in BRICS International School is determined on a competitive basis.

Thanks to the partners’ support participation in BRICS International School is free. Organizers will provide and pay for accommodation for foreign and out-of-town participants. Transfer costs should be covered by a delegating party.

Participants will be provided with a course of lectures, analytical materials, cultural program, accommodation in comfortable housing (for foreign and out-of-town participants), meals (buffet) three times a day, and transfers during the program.

Terms of application

To join BRICS International School please submit the following package of documents:

  • Video-resume* (CV) in English (1-3 min) answering the question: «Why do you want to become a participant of BRICS International School?» in Mpeg4 format**;

  • Resume*(CV) (in English and Russian);

  • Letter of recommendation from the head of the organization / research supervisor (in Russian or English) – is welcomed.

The resume of an applicant should include the following information:

  • Last name, first name, middle name;

  • Date of birth;

  • Education (including the name of the educational institution and the year of graduation);

  • Current position and place of work/study;

  • Previous experience (if any);

  • Field of scientific interests;

  • List of conferences (if any);

  • List of publications (if any);

  • Level of foreign language skills***;

  • Contact information (phone, e-mail);

  • Photo (electronic - for the website in case of participation in BRICS International School).

*** Knowledge of English is required

The organizers may invite the applicants for an interview (personally or by phone).

Deadline for applications – July 15, 2018 till 00:00 (Moscow time).
