“Russian-Georgian Dialogue for Peace and Cooperation” has opened in St. Petersburg
A forum “Russian-Georgian Dialogue for Peace and Cooperation” has opened in St. Petersburg. Its organizers are the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Found, Center for Cultural Relations – Caucasian House, Center for International and Regional Policy and North-West Institute of Management of the Russian Federation Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration.
During three days, participants of the conference will summarize results of the political year, discuss prospects for coupling of economic interests of Russia and Georgia, conflict potential of disputed territories, cooperation between our countries in the face of global threats, transit potential of the region, and the role of culture and religion in Russian-Georgian relations.
The delegates of the forum were welcomed by Deputy Executive Director of Gorchakov Fund Roman Grishenin, Executive Director of NGO Center for Cultural Relations – Caucasian House Giorgi Kanashvili (Georgia), and Deputy Director of North-West Institute of Management (St. Petersburg) Yuri Kosov.
Prominent Russian and Georgian experts are taking part in the forum. The speakers include Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Georgia in 1996-2000 Felix Stanevsky, President of NGO Project of the Future of Georgia Vakhtang Lomdzharia, and Associate Professor of International Relations at St. Petersburg State University Niyazi Niyazov.
Tatia Dolidze (a representative of Georgian youth in the UN, Tbilisi), Modest Kolerov (Editor-in-Chief of IA REGNUM), Sergey Tsyplyaev (Dean of the Faculty of Law of North-West Institute of Management, St. Petersburg), Zeynab Bakhturidze (Associate Professor at the Department of International Relations of North-West Institute of Management, St. Petersburg), Olesya Vartanyan (a regional representative of non-governmental expert organization International Crisis Group in Europe, Tbilisi), Alexey Tokarev (senior research fellow at the Center for Global Affairs of MGIMO under MFA of Russia, Moscow) , Guri Bakradze (PhD student at Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University), Olga Podberezkina (Executive Director of Science Media Agency “Nasledie Otechestva”, Moscow), David Kakhiani (Assistant at NGO Center for Cultural Relations – Caucasian House, Tbilisi), Marina Khadipash (senior specialist of Press and Media Unit at the Committee for Nationalities Affairs, Relations with Compatriots and Mass Media of the Republic of Adygea, Maykop), Albert Inderbiyev (Deputy Head of Projects and Programs Unit at the Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Chechen Republic, Grozny), Georgy Kevlishvili (expert-analyst at NGO Center for Public Studies, Tbilisi) and others.
The forum “Russian-Georgian Dialogue for Peace and Cooperation” will end on November 23.
