The VI Forum of Young Diplomats of the Eurasian Space has opened in Moscow. It was organized by the Council of Young Diplomats under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia in collaboration with the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov sent a welcome message to organizers and participants of the Forum. The message said:

“Today deepening of integration processes in Eurasia is among prime objectives of the foreign policy of Russia. Your forum, among others, is aimed at making its contribution into the common effort in this area. While bringing together representatives of a younger generation, prominent politicians, public figures and scientists, such meetings make it abundantly clear that there is a demand for a professional exchange of opinions on the issues of further unlocking the great potential of the EEU, they play an important role in broadening humanitarian cooperation and, finally, in strengthening the atmosphere of trust and mutual understanding among the people of our countries.

In this regard, I am pleased to see a sincere urge of the colleagues to actively participate in joint activities on building an intergovernmental dialogue, including on the level of youth institutions of foreign policy agencies in the countries of the region. I believe that your event will be productive and the initiative of “network horizontal diplomacy”, which is implemented within the framework of the event, will support development of new mutually beneficial contacts.

Wishing you stimulating discussions and all the best”.
