The first Youth Forum of the Potsdam Meetings will be held in Moscow
The first Youth Forum of the Potsdam Meetings will be held in Moscow on May 11. The event was organized by the Gorchakov Fund and the German-Russian Forum.
26 participants became members of Russian and German delegations based on results of the competition. They include young politicians, governmental officials, economists, journalists, scientists, researchers, teachers, and public figures from both countries.
Well-known politicians and public figures, top experts, including Special Envoy of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, Director of the Third European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Nechayev, and former Minister President of Brandenburg, Chairman of the Management Board of the German-Russian Forum Matthias Platzeck. Issues of the future system of global security and peace, economy with reference to its three components – the energy industry, modernization and digitalization – will be discussed. Topics related to mutual fears, disinformation, and politics on the Internet will also be covered.
Results of the forum are planned to be presented at the 20th Potsdam Meetings, which will be held in Berlin on June 22-23.
