The Gorchakov Fund has participated in the discussion of prospects for youth cooperation in the Black Sea region in Tbilisi

International meeting “Development of Youth Cooperation in the Black Sea Region” was held in Tbilisi. That information was provided by a press service of the National Youth Council of Russia.

 

According to the source, 30 representatives from nine countries of the Black Sea region took part in the meeting. Delegates of National Youth Councils, officials from Ministries of Youth Affairs, experts, and professionals in the field of work with the youth gathered together at the roundtable. They discussed issues of a field-specific policy in each of the countries, ways of bringing up to date areas of cooperation in the region, and assessed prospects for joint initiatives and projects.

 

A representative of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund participated in the discussion. The Russian delegation invited youth organizations from the Black Sea region to cooperation with regard to composing foreign delegations for participation in the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students, which will be held in October of 2017 in Sochi, mentions the source.

 

Among specific proposals and initiatives on development of cooperation in the region, presented by the Russian side and included in the results of the meeting, the source mentions the Black Sea Academy of Public Diplomacy in Sochi in 2017 as well as a joint exhibition of the Black Sea region within the framework of the agenda of the World Festival of Youth and Students in 2017.

 

“The Russian delegation suggested considering an opportunity of establishing close cooperation between the Black Sea Union of National Youth Councils and the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) as well as an opportunity for creating Youth Interparliamentary Assembly of BSEC, adds the press service.
