The Gorchakov Fund is participating in the Potemkin Readings in Sevastopol

The II International Scientific Conference “The Potemkin Readings” is taking place at Sevastopol State University with the support of History of Motherland Foundation. Scientists and experts from several regions of Russia, Serbia, Armenia, Moldova, Ukraine, and Donetsk came to participate in the event.


Representatives of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund are attending the forum, which was named after outstanding Russian statesman, founder of the Black Sea fleet Prince Grigory Aleksandrovich Potemkin-Tavricheski.


Historic, social and political problems, issues of historic-social and geopolitical development of modern Crimea and Sevastopol, prospects of the foreign policy of Russia in the Black Sea-Mediterranean region and in the Middle East are being discussed within the framework of the meetings, plenary sessions and thematic workshops. The attendees of the conference will present forecasts of historic, social, political and economic development of Crimea and Sevastopol.


According to the organizers, the II International Scientific Conference “The Potemkin Readings” should serve as a foundation for developing a permanent humanitarian and historic discussion platform for the intellectual elite of Crimea and Sevastopol.

“One of the main goals of the conference is to implement an educational and awareness-raising project targeting students, young researchers and scientists of Crimea and Sevastopol”, stressed Head of the Center for Sociological Sciences of Sevastopol State University Olga Yarmak in her interview to press service of the Gorchakov Fund.
