The Gorchakov Fund supported “Greater Europe Meetings” in Paris
The 3rd annual forum “Greater Europe Meetings” dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II is taking place in the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris. The Gorchakov Fund provided financial support to the event.
The best students and young professionals got together in the French capital. Future politicians, diplomats, businessmen and journalists met to celebrate the 70th anniversary of World War II and creation of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
The delegates from different countries received an opportunity to discuss relations between Russia and Europe, problems of the future and the present of Greater Europe covering a territory from Lisbon to Vladivostok, and make their contribution into development of cooperation among the countries of the continent.
One of the main goals of the forum is to defy existing stereotypes among nations on the continent.
Assistant Director-General of UNESCO for Social and Humane Sciences Nada Al-Nashif, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to France Alexander Orlov, Senator and Vice President of the Committee for European Affairs of the French Senate Ives Pozzo di Borgo, Deputy Permanent Delegate of the Russian Federation to UNESCO Alexander Boldyrev, member of the National Assembly and member of the Commission of National Defense and Armed Forces of France Nicolas Duicq, and former Ambassador of France to Russia Claude Blanchemaison became honorary guests of the discussion.
