The Gorchakov Fund took part in a meeting with Italian politician Romano Prodi

During a private visit to Moscow, Italian politician Romano Prodi spoke to Russian diplomats and public leaders at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia on March 17.


Representatives of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund participated in the event.


Later, a meeting of the politician with President of Russia Vladimir Putin will be held. Press Secretary of the head of the Russian state Dmitry Peskov informed about that.


“Romano Prodi, a former Prime Minister of Italy, is visiting Moscow these days. He is here on a private visit. It is known that since the time of his premiership good relations have been established between him and Putin, and such a private meeting will also take place”, Dmitry Peskov told mass media representatives.

Romano Prodi was heading the government of Italy in 1996-1998 and 2006-2008. In between the premierships, he served as President of the European Commission and Special Envoy of the UN Secretary General to the region of Sahel.
