The Gorchakov Fund will hold a roundtable on the topic of public diplomacy on the sidelines of the All-Russian Congress of Political Scientists
On November 19, the 7th All-Russian Congress of Political Scientists will open in the conference hall of MGIMO. That representative forum, dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the Russian Political Science Association (RPSA), is held by the university jointly with RPSA.
According to the official website of MGIMO, the main topic of the congress is “Political Science under Challenges of the Modern Politics”. About 150 leading national and foreign professionals in the field of political science, representing universities and centers from the majority of Russian regions and 33 countries of the world (Germany, France, USA, Great Britain, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Iran, Israel, Poland, Hungary, Ukraine, Armenia, Kazakhstan and others) will participate in the event.
The congress is financed by the funds provided through a grant of the President of Russia for socially important NGOs. Plenary, thematic and special sessions, roundtables, lectures by leading national and foreign political scientists, debates, working meetings of RPSA research committees and project groups, professional communities and scientific-administrative structures are planned to be held.
The roundtable “Public Diplomacy under Modern International Challenges”, organized with participation of the Gorchakov Fund, will become one of such events. Burning issues of development of public diplomacy as a key mechanism for international cooperation under current conditions, search for new tools to involve the civil society into the foreign policy process, creation and advancement of an objective image of Russia in the world are planned to be discussed.
That roundtable will be held on November 21.
