The II International Diplomatic Games with the support of the Gorchakov Fund. Call for applications!
The Faculty of Eurasia and East of Chelyabinsk State University and the Graduate Association of CSU with the support of the Gorchakov Fund invite high school students from Russia and the CIS countries to participate in the II International Diplomatic Games, which will take place on February 9, 2018 and will be dedicated to the Diplomat’s Day.
Organizers of the Games are the Faculty of Eurasia and East of Chelyabinsk State University and the Graduate Association of CSU.
Partners of the Games are the Ministry of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk region, the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, and the Civic Chamber of the Chelyabinsk region.
The goal of the Games is to draw attention of the high school students from Russia and the CIS countries to the issues of international relations and the field of public diplomacy. The participants of the Games will be able to expand and deepen their knowledge about modern foreign affairs, learn opinions and positions of representatives from different countries about prospects for SCO development, which will also contribute to their career guidance.
The participants of the Games are high school students (grades 8-11th) from schools in Russia and CIS.
The topic of the Diplomatic Games 2018 – “SCO’s Expansion: Problems and Prospects”.
The Games will be held in 2 stages:
1st stage – via correspondence. Deadline – to be completed by December 31, 2017. The assignment for the correspondence stage is in Attachment 2.
2nd stage – in-person (final). Date – February 9, 2018. 5 teams will be selected by the judges of the contest to participate in the finals based on the results of the correspondence stage. The program of the Games is in Attachment 3.
Finalists and winners of the Games will receive prizes and gifts and will also be awarded with diplomas of the participants of the Games
The working language is Russian.
Accommodation costs and meals will be paid by the hosting party. Travel costs of the participants will be partially compensated (not more than 50 000 rubles per team).
