The II Youth Eurasian School is taking place in Astana with the support of the Gorchakov Fund

The II Youth Eurasian School is taking place in Astana at the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University. Its organizers are the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, Non-Commercial Partnership “Information and Analytical Center Eurasia-Povolzye” (Saratov), Public Union “Eurasian Association for International Studies”, Department of International Relations of Chernyshevsky State University in Saratov, Educational Center of the CIS and Baltic States Studies, and Faculty of International Relations of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Astana).

 

The goal of the project is to popularize the idea of Eurasian integration and create a positive image of the EEU among youth and in mass media.

 

The attendees of the seminar are represented by 25 young people from 11 higher educational establishments from the EEU member states. In such a way, the School implements the idea of building an educational platform of interdisciplinary nature to prepare young experts in the field of foreign affairs and promote Eurasian integration.


Lectures, roundtables and presentations will be held during the seminar, which will last for five days. Instructors of the School include: Professor, Dean of the Faculty of International Relations of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Dr. Aygerim Ospanova (Astana); Professor, Head of the Department of European Studies at St. Petersburg State University Dr. Stanislav Tkachenko (St. Petersburg); Associate Professor at the Department of World Politics of St. Petersburg State University Dr. Maria Lagutina (St. Petersburg); Director of Information and Analytical Center Eurasia-Povolzye Marina Lapenko (Saratov); Director of Political Science Center North-South Angelika Trapeznikova (Moscow); Professor at the Department of Global Political Processes of MGIMO (U) under MFA of Russia Ksenia Borishpoletz (Moscow); Head of Projects of the Gorchakov Fund Anna Velikaya (Moscow); visiting Professor at the Department of Regional Studies of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Dr. Punit Gaur (India); and Deputy Director and Director of Research of NGO The National Security Archive Malcolm Byrne (Washington, DC).
