The IV School on Central Asia is open!

On July 22, the IV School on Central Asia began its work in Ufa. One of the leading scientific and educational programs of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund is taking place in Ufa this year – in the same Congress Hall were just two weeks ago the most important decisions for world politics were made at the BRICS and SCO summits.


Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund Roman Grishenin welcomed participants.


A discussion was opened by well-known Kyrgyz politician, Head of the Center of Geopolitical Studies “Berlek-Unity” and honorary guest of the School Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Muratbek Imanaliyev, who had been heading the Shanghai Organization for Cooperation in 2009-2012. He told the participants of the program about history of creation of SCO, its activities and prospects.


Muratbek Imanaliyev mentioned importance of engaging non-governmental and expert entities into a foreign policy process and a role of the Gorchakov Fund in it.


Deputy Head of the Department of Foreign and Interregional Relations at the Protocol Administration of the Head of the Republic of Bashkortostan Dmitry Tyrykin shared some details about organization and management of the SCO and BRICS summits in Ufa.


According to him, despite the fact that priorities of the foreign policy are outlined in official state documents, the actual policy is realized by people. In this regard, the SCO and BRICS summits and the School on Central Asia, held by the Gorchakov Fund, present an opportunity to nurture invaluable human relationships.


Classes at the School on Central Asia will last until July 24. Already on July 26, the First Youth Fora of BRICS and SCO will start their work in Ufa.
