07 July 2019

On July 5, 2019 an official opening ceremony of the IX International Russian-Chinese Summer School on International Relations “Fighting against Protectionism and Providing Support to Diversity in the Changing Political Landscape” took place at Higher School of Economics.

The school has been held since 2011 at the premises of the Faculty of Economics and World Politics of HSE University jointly with East China Normal University (Shanghai, China). Since 2015 the project has been implemented in collaboration with the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund. During that period time the summer schools were attended by 350 young experts, undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate students from different universities in Russia, China and other countries as well as by over 50 academic instructors from HSE University, ECNU and other educational institutions in Russia and China.

The school will be open until July 11 and will be dedicated to problems of world order in the era of re-emerging protectionism in the United States and the climate of mistrust in the existing world order in Western nations with the shifting of the center of global policy and economy to Asia.

The goal of the school is to further develop the platform for an exchange of experience and promotion of professional cooperation between students of Russia and China and other countries of the world in order to add cooperation in the fields of science and education to the existing political dialogue and strengthen the strategic partnership under conditions of new geopolitical and economic realities.

The agenda of the event includes lectures, open discussions, roundtables, project work and a cultural program (evenings of Russian and Chinese culture organized by the participants and tours around Moscow).
