The XIII Diplomatic Seminar of Young Experts. Call for applications!
The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund begins accepting application for participation in the XIII Diplomatic Seminar of Young Experts, which will take place in Siberia – in the city of Novosibirsk.
Meetings with top scholars in the field of foreign affairs, prominent political scientists, historians and representatives of NGOs as well as master classes and interactive cases will be organized for participants of the workshop. The attendees will have a unique opportunity to visit attractions, educational and cultural institutions of the scientific capital of Russia – Novosibirsk.
Dates of the workshop: May 19-23.
Who can attend?
students and postgraduates specializing in international relations, journalism, economics, political science and law;
representatives of NGOs, student unions and youth movements;
young scientists and historians from different regions of Russia, the CIS States, Europe, and Asia. Young experts from other continents may also apply;
international journalists working in the field of foreign policy positioning.
Age of participants – 18-30.
A group of participants will be formed based on results of an open competition.
Terms of participation:
the organizers will provide accommodation in double rooms, meals and transfers in Novosibirsk at no cost;
travel expenses to/from Novosibirsk and a visa fee (if required) will be paid by the participants themselves.
How to apply?
In order to participate in the contest, please to fill out an application of the Gorchakov Fund, attach a copy of the recommendation letter signed by a head of your organization or a university/academic advisor and write an essay “Heritage of Andrey Gromyko in Modern International Diplomacy” (dedicated to the 110th birthday anniversary of the outstanding Soviet diplomat) – not more than 10 000 characters.
The organizers will consider a possibility of covering travel expenses to/from Novosibirsk for authors of the three best essays.
Deadline to submit the applications – April 1, 2019 (Monday).
The working language of the event is Russian.
All the applicants will be notified about the results of the competition by e-mail.

The Diplomatic Seminar of Young Experts is a research and educational program and a youth platform for an open dialogue on the issues of cooperation in the fields of international relations, economics, law, public diplomacy and history. The project, which has been implemented since 2012, gathers an audience of over 300 professionals and experts from 25 neighboring states and beyond. For many of them, participation in the project served as a good professional stimulus for further research and social activities.
