17 March 2017

An opening ceremony of Russian language courses “Russkiy Svet”, organized by NGO Balkan Creative Group with the support of the Gorchakov Fund and the government of the Serbian capital, took place in the main conference hall of the Parliament of Belgrade.

As it was reported in September of last year, the first International Youth Educational Forum “Eurasia” was held in Orenburg. Hundreds of unique projects applied for grants of Rosmolodezh and the Gorchakov Fund within its framework. For the first time in history projects of foreign citizens received support from those organizations.

The contest committee, which included representatives of the Gorchakov Fund, Rossotrudnichestvo and Rosmolodezh, selected a project by Tamara Jakovlevic from Serbia “Educational Program “Russkiy Svet” as the most interesting and prospective project. It received a grant of the Gorchakov Fund in the amount of 300 000 rubles.

In February of 2017, free Russian language courses were held jointly with Government of Belgrade for students of Belgrade University. 50 winners received scholarships based on results of the selection procedure.

Representatives of the City Hall wished the winners success in learning Russian and developing communications between the youth of the two countries. They mentioned importance of public initiatives and their support by the government.

The courses will be taught by a team of Balkan Creative Group. The program of the school, besides the language courses, is aimed at preparing students for a state exam in Russian for foreigners and targets introduction of wide audience to the Russian culture and values of the modern Russian society.

Plans of Balkan Creative Group include holding open theme-based lectures, creation of a mobile library, movie shows, poetry and gastronomic evenings.
