Workshop “The Future of Pan-European Security. Global Dimensions” opened at the Gorchakov Fund
Workshop “The Future of Pan-European Security. Global Dimensions” has opened in Moscow.
Fifteen winners of the essay contest, organized by the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund and PIR Center, became participants of the workshop.
The attendees were welcomed by Deputy Executive Director of Gorchakov Fund Roman Grishenin. He mentioned high quality of the essays submitted for the contest. According to the deputy head of the Gorchakov Fund, a transforming system of global security results in the fact that less attention is given, in particular, to European problems. That point of view is shared by many experts. However, there is hope that Europe itself will set the tone for the new order developing on the planet. Roman Grishenin also emphasized a variety of issues raised in the essays written by the participants. He believes it is important that none of the aspects of European security have been neglected during the discussion. According to him, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, the Gorchakov Fund and PIR Center would like to start a new tradition and make the contest “The Future of Pan-European Security. Global Dimensions” an annual event.
The attendees of the workshop were also welcomed by Executive Director of PIR Center Albert Zulkharneyev. After thanking all those, who had initiated the contest, he said that the main goal of such activities was providing support to strengthening of the international dialogue and common search for solutions in conflict situations in international relations.
